This year, Astrea Academy Woodfields is joining the ‘Asthma Friendly Schools’ initiative, part of the NHS South Yorkshire Excellent Asthma Care Programme. The scheme aims to improve support for pupils with asthma through staff training, clear policies, and consistent care.

To gain accreditation, we will ensure all staff are asthma-aware, keep an up-to-date policy and register, store inhalers safely, monitor expiry dates, maintain a spare emergency inhaler and spacer, and have clear steps for escalating cases to health professionals or parents.
